Faith Episode 3 The Great Doctor (English Sub/Translation)

I know why Choi Young always sleeps. ^_^ It's because he uses electricity, energy consumption is high.

Since the English subs are not out yet, I have to watch the Chinese subbed version first. ^_^ Very exciting, good episode. Even better than Ep2. Chinese subbers are faster than English.  I couldn't wait to watch it. So, watched it this morning. It is now 9 p.m., and still no Eng subbed version.

I was thinking I didn't need to translate if the Eng subbed version was already out. But... it's not and I want to see it all over again!

For Episode 2, I watched it 3~4 times! It's that good.

Episode 3 (I've translated some of this below from "Source 2" that is more accurate. Chinese subs): http://www.mapledramas.com/node/56898/%E4%BF%A1%E7%BE%A9%28%E7%A5%9E%E9%86%AB%29-%E7%AC%AC3%E9%9B%86-the-faith-ep-3/

Raw version on different website: http://www.epdrama.com/faith-the-great-doctor/faith-the-great-doctor-episode-3/

Jang: What do you think you're doing?
Heaven's Doc:  Already said need to open his stomach. Need to open up the abdomen.
Jang: You said you were going to save him. Yet you're going to worsen the wound.
HD:  Opening of the abdomen is between the chest and navel.  Then it can be seen where is the damage. If just leave the patient to bleed, don't even mention surgery, it's death for certain. So please release my hand.

Royal guard A: So how is it?
Royal guard B: Our captain is Ok, right? The Doc from Heaven is saving him, right?
Royal guard sighs: At the moment, they are arguing.

Jang: You stabbed him. Now you say you are saving him. How can I believe you?
HD: Believe me!
Jang: How can I?
HD: Didn't you guys say I'm from Heaven? So, believe me.

White-haired guy: Chun Um Ja to see you.
Bad guy: The Yuan princess is still alive. She must die!
Servant: I will handle it immediately.
Bad guy: How long will it take?
Servant: A day.
Bad guy: A day? You can finish this in a day when it has taken me so many years to plan? I'm really useless. You can accomplish in a day what has taken me so much effort for so many years. Till today, still achieved nothing.
Servant: It is my slip of the tongue.
Bad guy: Get rid of one king, put up another. Now this king is serving me the entire country on a silver platter.  For this moment, I have not had a moment's good sleep.  Not truly laughed for even a moment. The result? The yuan princess is still alive.
White-haired guy: Yes.
Bad guy: How can it be?
White-haired guy: Senior sis has already departed. Please wait another day. If it's senior sis, success is certain.
Bad guy: That so?
White-haired: You know her. She is a fire wielder.
Bad guy: Yuan princess has to die. Absolutely cannot allow that woman to enter our country alive.  It is not in my plan.
White-haired: I know.
Bad guy: That person..
White-haired: Yes.
Bad guy: He knows too much.
White-haired: Yes.

HD: Luckily the stomach is Ok. Then there won't be the danger of auto-digestion. Now we begin sewing up the liver. The artery needs to be clamped to prevent bleeding. As for the smaller vessels, it's  a problem. Which is your biggest needle in your collection? It's too big. That one. Hold that clamp for me, I want to cauterize the small vessels.  Begin to seal.

(zine ed's note: Must the director show in such detail? It's making feel sick. I had to look away. When I watched it this morning, I just skipped/forwarded these parts. Now that I'm translating, I have to see whether there is any dialogue to translate.).

Choi Young wakes in the morning.

HD: Don't move! Put down your sword. Otherwise, I'll...
Choi Young: You'll what? First a stab, then stay up late to heal me. Now you want to stab me again, and again heal me.
Young guy: Captain! Captain!
Choi: How long have I been unconscious?
Young guy: Just a night. It is now morning.
Choi: Where is his highness? Should have left?
Young guy: Not yet.
Choi: WHY?
Young guy: His highness gave orders that we are all to wait. He said he wanted to leave together with Captain.
Choi: Damn it. Get my armor.

HD: What are you doing? Where are you going?
Royal Guard: Captain. Whoa... are you Ok?
Choi: Where is his highness?
Guard: Upstairs.
Guard B: Captain! Captain!
Guard C: How can this be?
Guard D: Are you Ok?
Guard E:  You made us so worried! We thought this time you were done for!
HD: Didn't you hear what I said? Absolutely need silent rest!  I say, it took such effort to seal your wound, what if it opens?
Choi calls a guard.
Guard: Yes.
Choi calls another guy.
Guy: Yes.
Choi: We're setting off immediately. Go prepare the boat. The boatman must be waiting.
The guys: We obey.
HD:  You think this is just a small scratch, just stitch and it's fine? Your liver is damaged. I sewed one vessel by one vessel at a time, you know?
Choi calls another guy.
Guy: Yes.
Choi: Prepare to set out.
HD: You...! Get back to your room and lay down to rest! I'll observe you till next morning. I will decide whether you can move around or not! And farting, you know farting? Not allowed to eat. Absolutely cannot eat a thing. And stitches will be removed after a week. Until then, you have to listen to me. Problem is...

Choi faints on her.

Choi: Problem is... If we don't set out now,  we'll all be dead. At the moment, I can't fight off the enemy.
HD: W..Why?
Choi: Before farting, not allowed to eat, how can I have the energy to fight?
HD: No, I mean, why would we all die? Who is going to kill us? Why?
Choi walks away.
HD: You... !
Choi: They kidnapped you. It means they already know who you are.
HD: They?
Choi: Although I don't know how much they know...but before they come again, escape is the best strategy.
HD: Escape? Escape to where? Why should I flee?
Choi: Can't you listen to me?
HD: No, what I mean is...
Choi: To honor the promise that I'll send you back, can't have anything happen to you. I will keep protecting you. So, please don't even take a step away from me. Go get his highness and the empress, and prepare the carriages.
HD: I ain't going! The door that can get me back, that hole, isn't it here? How can I leave here? I am not leaving. Not leaving!
Choi: Dae-man.
Dae-man: Yes, captain.
Choi: Think of something.

They set off.

HD: What kinda carriage is this, so bumpy. (takes pulse) Heart rate is stable. Color looks Ok. (thinks of Choi Young) This unreasonable, stubborn, idiot. Even if the stitching opens up, I am not going to care. I have done all I can, go ahead and sue all you want.

At the inn that the guys just left. Woman in red arrives.

Woman: Innkeeper.
Innkeeper: Yes.
Woman: Bring me your best wine and food.
Innkeeper: Yes, yes.
Servant: They have set sail. I have indeed bound all the boats. Looks like they discovered...
Woman:  What to do...This isn't good.
Servant: If you had set off the moment you received the order, we would have arrived at dawn at the latest, and would have been able to catch them. We waited for you till dawn. We even confirmed that their captain is seriously wounded. But..
Woman: Well, I couldn't help it. I had something on last night. As for what I was busy with... I will be shy mentioning it, so I'll not. So the one who let them off, is me?
Servant: They shouldn't have gone far. So...
Woman: If my training buds knew, it is inevitable they will jeer at me. You'll say I was lazily asleep and they escaped.
Servant: No.. I wouldn't dare.
Woman: I can't trust your words.
Servant: If we give chase now, I will not say anything.
Woman: How about this. It was you who betrayed us.
Servant: W.. what?
Woman: Why did you betray us after taking the money? You couldn't take the beating and told everything. Anyway, by the time I got here, it was too late. Because you told them I was coming, so everyone left. See, there's no one left. You're too bad. So...  (Kills the guy.) So, I had no choice but to kill you. Sorry.

In the carriage.

HD: What's your name? I'm Yoo Eun Soo. Looks like I am older. You are?
Princess: Boresubotasure.
HD: What?
Princess: Daughter of Yuan King.
HD: Daughter of a king.  A princess. What kinda dream is this? Then, in that carriage in front is...
Princess: The king.
HD: King... Princess.. Just now, you said Yuan dynasty. You mean the yuan dynasty of China? Yuan dynasty, then my country is Goryeo. I study medicine, not good at history. Then here is...
Princess: As reported just now, we have entered Goryeo.
HD: Then I came here on a time machine? I came from Gangnam Korea to Goryeo. From 2012 to... what year is Goryeo? A few hundred years? A thousand?
Princess: The warriors all saw, you came here through the heaven doorway. I heard it was the royal guard who took you here by force. And I know it was because of me. I'm very sorry.
HD: What kinda dream is this that's so long.... Ahhh... what to do...

In the bad guy's chamber.

Guy:  The king and gang have entered the capital. I've earlier set watchers there but seems not yet in hand. The people are flustered. All wondering how to treat this new king. How much loyalty to show.
Bad Guy: I really want to know. How much loyalty they have for the new king.
Guy:  How can it be compared to you.
Bad guy: They, even though born into luxury, plenty of land and plenty of servants. Belonging to the upperclass. But you know what is their greatest most powerful weapon?
Guy: I am all ears.
Bad guy: Antenna. Who should I lean towards to benefit me? To get more land and more servants. They have mastered their antenna since they were born. So they are very reliable. I would like to know that antenna will point to whom.
Guy: Would you like to experiment?
Bad guy: Mm. Yes.
Guy: Your son... isn't it time to celebrate his coming of age?
Guy: My son? Why would that be?
Guy: Should be already right? Such a big affair, how can you hide it?
Bad guy: Yes, yes. A happy occasion needs to be celebrated.

(zine ed: Ok, I'll stop translating here as it's late. Towards the end, when Eun Soo cried about wanting a shower and going home and wanting Choi to accept treatment because of her guilt,  I found myself tearing up and a tear dripped down my left eye when I blinked.

At first, I didn't get why she talked about wanting a shower and sleeping in her bed, and then caring for Choi so much that she persists in treating him (out of guilt). As she talked, I realized why she wanted to treat him so badly. But didn't matter that she wanted him to live because she wanted to go home. It's still sad.

I really admire the part where she's not even intimidated by Choi even though he's so harsh. The instant he holds out his hand, she grabs it. Wow.

I like that his men know him so well that he doesn't need to say anything and they understand (at times).  Like when Dae and him were rescuing her and Dae looked at his captain, understood completely and left.  And this instance when the men are behind him as he handles Eun Soo, and they all leave the moment he turns to look at them.

Re-watching it now (I realize "Source 2" of this Chinese subbed version is better/more accurate than "Source 1" above it that I watched in the morning. Source 1 isn't showing up at the moment)... I now see more clearly that she likes him... oooh... she likes him. ^_^ Using his promise as excuse for her caring as she puts the aspirin in his hand.

Then it's very funny when Eun Soo tells the princess to "puck, puck" her lips to blend the lipstick. It's so womanly. ^_^ Woman helping woman. So warm, so cool of Eun Soo to do that for the princess. The sounds Eun Soo makes are just sooo cute. ^_^ No wonder Choi Young falls for her. She's just so... innocent, straightforward and cute.

Also, I agree with Eun Soo that not being given proper meals is poor hospitality. I mean, come on. Heaven's doc should be given better treatment after saving the princess. Even if not heaven's doc, it's only proper hosting to give food and drink to guests. I don't understand why that servant girl is so... impolite and difficult.

I like that elderly palace woman who turns out to be the king's foster mom. She looked at Choi Young and tsk-ed at him for not taking care of his body, instead of sympathizing (then he just released a tired "hmh" and turned away). I like that Choi smiled at her sheepishly when she approached him.

I also feel that the love story between the king and empress is rather sad. All because of country. The empress actually loves him, I think. And the king also loves her. Just that... it seems to be the king is upset because he mistook her for one of his Goryeo people, but turned out she was a yuan princess. Yuan, that he hates and wants to get away from.)

The morning's version "Source 1" can also be watched here (but the translation towards the end about her legs is different from "Source 2". Source 1 = Choi is translated as telling her that she should "block a little of her below", then she looks down. (Doesn't quite make sense).

However in "Source 2", more accurate, Choi is translated as saying that she should cover up her legs (because it's improper for a woman's legs to be exposed in this world):  'Source 1" = http://net.tv.game.tw/fashiondrama/2012-08-21/%E4%BF%A1%E7%BE%A9%28%E7%A5%9E%E9%86%AB%29-%E7%AC%AC3%E9%9B%86-The-Faith-Ep-3.html

As Eun Soo walks with Jang in the medicine garden, she keeps saying they don't have this, don't have that. I don't agree with Eun Soo that they have no medicine just because they are ancient. Antibiotics, I am sure those herbs can do it. "No medicine" is just ridiculous. All those bags of dried herbs hanging from the ceiling and those drawers of stuff... those are medicine if a doc knows how to use them. They should be even better or more powerful than modern-day drugs.  Jang may not understand the modern-day words of penicillin and tetracycline.  But if she tells him their function, I bet Jang will have the equivalent. Already, he has anesthetic (Ma Bi San) that he says he made.

Then the part at the end, when Choi warned Eun Soo that he'd shut her mouth if she keeps saying he has some disease... I wonder how is he going to do that? ^_^ A kiss? ^___^

Rude, Bad Attitude Service Staff @ Vivocity Giant Supermarket Seafood Section

(Complaint sent to Giant customer service e-mail)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to bring your attention to the rude staff at the seafood section of Vivocity Giant.

This is not the first time it has happened, and previous customers have also been upset by the bad attitude and rude behavior of the fishmongers there. The staff there are very sullen, treat customers badly and work grudgingly.

At around noon today (15 Aug), I chose some tiger prawns and held out the bag to be weighed.

The guy facing me in front saw me, ignored me and continued doing something. So, I looked at another guy who was free standing around, and showed him my bag of prawns to be weighed. And he just looked away.

The first guy in front still continued ignoring me, even though I was holding out the prawns for a while already. So, I looked at the guy who was standing around again, and he saw me a second time, but again looked away. My brother who was with me even called to him and he still looked away, pretending not to see.

I waved my bag of prawns and said, "Where is your manager?". And none of the four or five staff even cared.

The guy in front of me still continued as if he hadn't heard.

A young lady staff who was standing at the Halal meat section saw me and came over.  It was obvious she didn't belong in the seafood section. Even though she didn't know how to use the weighing machine to dispense the price label, she still helped me.

After thanking her, I went to the Customer Service counter to ask for the manager. Mr. Francis came and I explained to him. He gave these excuses: "But you got it weighed, right?" and "Maybe they were busy".

Come now. How can a manager create such excuses for the staff?

Who weighed the item for me? Not the seafood section staff who should have done it.  And what about the man who stood around and saw me, but looked away twice even though he was called?

How long does it take to weigh an item? Not even needing to process anything. Just weighing it takes just a few seconds. Yet the staff completely ignore the customer standing there holding out the bag.

Additionally, on the occasions when they do weigh a bag, they never hand it to the customer, even though I am stretching to take it from them. They just drop it near to themselves.

Giant should not keep such rude and undeserving staff on its payroll. With such inherently bad attitude, such staff cannot be trained. It would be better to acquire new staff who can be trained, and have better attitude in interacting with customers.

After talking to Mr Francis, I put back the prawns at the seafood section. Why should customers pay for receiving unhappy and grudging service?

(zine ed's note: According to bro, recently, there was a man who was so angry with their service that he exploded with anger at them. When I asked for the manager today, the customer service counter staff told me Mr George Ingris was no longer working there. Andy Yuen, the other manager was not around and would come in at lunch. So, there left Francis.).

Update: Received e-mail reply from Giant on Aug 21.  When I sent my e-mail complaint, their auto-reply said:  "We thank you for your feedback! It has been forwarded to our staff who will be in touch within 3 working days.".

Counting 16th, 17th, 18th (Sat), 19th (Sun), 20th (public holiday for Hari Raya), 21st reply, it is 3 working days.

2 attachments:
1) Specimen gift voucher. "Great gift ideas for all occasions".
2) Logo pic "Dairy Farm Cares. Do our part for the community we serve".
At first, I thought it was a gift voucher as compensation/apology. But saw the big "Specimen" stamped across it.

So, the reply was just words that's free to say. Whether anything was really done, I don't know. I doubt "counselled" has any effect.  Nevertheless,  it was well replied and I appreciate there being a reply.  The purpose of my complaint was to let them know what's going on, what their staff are doing.

Update 4 April Fri 2014: Giant took swift action after my complaint. A few days later, I noticed those rude fishmongers were gone. Either fired or they quit.

Faith The Great Doctor Episode 1 Watch (English subbed)

Ok, here's one that's out: English subbed.

http://www.epdrama.com/faith-the-great-doctor/faith-the-great-doctor-episode-1/

------
Update: Hmm... I just finished watching this with Eng subs. Towards the end, I didn't translate (refer to below where I stopped translation at the end).

So I was watching the English translation for the first time in the above link.

Overall, if you don't know the Chinese subs, the English subs are good. But knowing the Chinese subs, there is a difference (rather huge in some instances) in meaning/translation between the Chinese and English. Kinda troubling since I don't know which is more accurate.

Those English subbers translated it based on really knowing the Korean language? Or could the Chinese subbers have gotten it incorrect?

Faith 信义 The Great Doctor Lee Min Ho Ep 1 (episode 1 watch) English translation

(zine ed: Translated while watching, sometimes used 2 online language aids (nciku & google translate) for accuracy and clarification. For every line spoken, I'd stop and type the English translation in notepad. Finally,  copy and paste the entire thing into here.  Watch it on Funshion and read the translation here, I guess, until the English subbed version is out on hosts).

I believe when it comes to Korean/Japanese, the Chinese translation is more accurate to follow than English. (But seems the adviser, when he saw the red smoke at the start, said "Hwa Ta" in the epdrama link in the above post, rather than the Chinese translation "mirage" as in this post below).

It's much easier to watch with English subs than to translate from Chinese subs. Really very time-consuming and difficult to translate.  So, looking forward to watching English subbed videos from now on of this drama.

-------------------

It's great to be able to read Chinese (at least some). Hahaha! I finally in desperation thought of Funshion when I couldn't get anything online on Viki and Youku using free US and China proxy servers (didn't work).

Download Funshion. Easy and fast. There is English version, and Chinese.
Once it launches, type the Chinese words for Faith "信义" into the search engine. It'll be launched in the Funshion viewer and plays immediately.

Starts out with legend of Hua Tuo, the invincible physician who can cure any illness. Once the great general Cao Cao had a headache and Hua Tuo was able to cure it. Cao Cao wanted to keep Hua Tuo by his side as personal physician but Hua Tuo declined saying he didn't want to be of service to just 1 man. Troops were then sent to capture Hua Tuo, kill if the physician declined. Just before he could be taken, a gust of wind blew from the sky and zapped Hua Tuo away.

Forward to AD1351.

Older rider sees a red plume rising in the mountains: Over there, a mirage?
Rider goes up to Min Ho: We're being followed.
Min Ho: I know.
Rider: Seems to be no ordinary farmer.
Min Ho: I know.

Trapped carriage: 1,2,3, Effort! Once more!
Min Ho: Is the boat ready?
Running lad: General! Boat... there isn't any.
Older man: How is that possible? So many boats and can't find even one?
Lad: They said there isn't any ready to sail. What am I to do? The fastest, need to wait for tomorrow in the day, perhaps there might be a few ready to go.
Minho to carriage person: We'll have to stay the night.

Older man: Stay the night? Why here? (zine ed: Why is he questioning the general? Min Ho's voice is so soft and weak to be a general). Once we pass this river, we'll arrive at Goryeo. Why...

Min Ho: Fine, do it your way. (to carriage person) I'll make the preparations.
Older man: I say Shou Tai Chi... Shou Tai Chi... (zine ed: no idea what Shou Tai Chi means, just a term of address).
Min Ho: Get going. Towards an inn for the night.

At the inn:
Man: Innkeeper, my two masters got married barely a few days, but these two are sensitive, perhaps may need to trouble you. Right! Here, enough? Consider fortune struck for you. Go take a break.

Innkeeper: Yes.

Man: And get rid of those as well.

Innkeeper: We're closed. Leave after you're done. Don't just stand there.

Customer walking out: What the hell!
Customer: Unhand me!

Man speaking to Min Ho: Whoever drove away the boatmen, are still on us.
Min Ho: I guess.
Man: Then they should be able to anticipate we would be staying the night here.
Min Ho: Yeah, wasn't it said a nearby inn would be this one?
Man: You well know, and yet stay here?
Min Ho: What then? Stick a flag into the vast farmland and shout?
Man: Then now, how shall we defend?
Min ho: Defend, in all, seriousness.
Man: Right. Group A, close the windows, move the tables to block the doors. The enemy has arrived sooner than us. Don't let your guard down not even for a moment.

Voice behind drawing man: Once at Goryeo, first must severely punish that Shou Tai Chi general brat. I knew it when he was sent to escort the carriage at Goryeo. This is such a slight on your royal highness. Shindaigu, yes, once past Shindaigu, your royal highness will finally be able to return to Goryeo. To put it nicely, it's Prince Gongmin. When you were still young, you were forcibly taken away. These years, how have we gotten through? Now after all the hardship, your royal highness is able to return to Goryeo. How is this considered an escort? A grand escort with flags and armies of men and horses isn't too much to ask for! What? Can't even wear elaborate robes and can't show our faces? Nobody is allowed to call out to your royal highness. These band of despicable and rude escort guards...

Min Ho enters. Old guy shouts at him: How dare you, brat!

Min ho: The empress will also be staying here.

old guy: You brat! Entering without even knocking first!

Min Ho: If we have to guard 2 houses, we would be very tired. (zine ed: I'm surprised by this intelligent strategy from the soft-spoken Min Ho.). I know the relationship between you 2 is sensitive, but hope you'll understand.

Old guy: Insolence!

Min Ho: Can you use a sword? You can guard that window.

Old guy: Guard that window? You ask me to guard window? You damn...

Enter the empress (zine ed: Hwahhh... so fierce-looking. Whoa man... what's up between them?).

Guy coming up the stairs being asked: Where are you going? If you don't stay by us, it will be difficult for us to protect you.

Guy: My own life, I can take care of.

Fighting. Min Ho: The enemy number is greater than expected. Even if you are afraid, do not flee from my side. Can you do that?

Royal highness: I will not flee.

Min ho: Good then, I will protect you with my life.

(zine ed: ehh hehehe... look at that old guy pulling the table to hide himself instead of protecting his king).

Guy: Catch 'em alive! Don't let them escape!

Physician with needles: General, need your internal strength.

(zine ed: Oh.. so the general has some kinda magical power..)

Voice: Catch him! Don't let a single one escape!

Guy: Don't kill them! I told you not to kill them!

Voice: What happened? What's happening?

Guy: Didn't I tell you not to kill them, you brat? Need to investigate who sent them, didn't I say?

Guy: It's not what you think.

Guy: What not?

Guy pulls off enemy's mask: This wicked fellow. Took poison and killed himself.

Old guy comes down the stairs: Jang Bin, are you mad? What the hell are you doing?

Jang Bin: As you see, I am...
Old guy: I say, you have to save the Empress! Do you know what kind of situation it is now? We're going to lose our lives! Hurry, hurry let's go.
Jang Bin: Come.
Guy: Yes.
Jang Bin: Take care of this.

Old guy: Come, come. It's going to be the end of our Goryeo. Highness, of what personage is the empress? Is she a princess from the Yuan dynasty? How can we let such a personage die by the side of the road? Originally, there is already gossip that Goryeo will be made Yuan Dynasty's vassal state. If the princess dies here, this will give them an edge on us. The very edge that will allow the Yuan dynasty to absorb Goryeo.

Highness: Is there really no hope?
Jang Bin: A major artery was badly ruptured. After doing (this and that procedure), the bleeding has temporarily stopped. But it is only a make-do measure.
Old guy: The artery is badly ruptured, can't it be joined up?
Jang Bin: It wasn't easy just lowering the heartrate by half. If blood pressure is disturbed, the bleeding can't be stopped, the result will be disastrous.
Old guy: No, no, we must save her.
Jang Bin: Unless it's a miracle physician, there is no other way.
Old guy: What? Miracle physician.
Highness: If that woman dies, our country will be destroyed. General, do you think so too?
Min Ho: I am but a warrior, don't know about politics.
Highness: It appears that just upon my ascension, the country will be destroyed. What a great king I am.
Old guy: There is, your highness. A miracle physician. Just nearby here. I know where it is.
Min ho: Where is it? Ask the men to find him.
Old guy: He is in the sky. I know the gate to the sky. It's over there.

Sees Jang Bin: Jang Bin is Goryeo's best physician. Even he says he can't save her, so we can only plead to heaven.

Highness: Plead to heaven? Will heaven save her?

Old guy: The point is to plead to heaven. If highness will not plead with all heart and sincerity to heaven, it's hard on those watching by the side. Need to plead for consecutively 3 days and 3 nights. Let it reach the ears of the Yuan king.

Highness: To appease the Yuan dynasty's anger.
Old guy (adviser): Yes, for the sake of Goryeo.
Highness: You go prepare.
Adviser: I'll handle it.

Min Ho: Can the empress be moved?
Jang Bin: No
Min Ho: I'll divide the men into 2 batches. The one with the larger number will be left here. (zine ed: I'm surprised and momentarily impressed by his sacrifice). Seems the enemy is targetting the empress. (zine ed: I see.)
Highness: General. From Goryeo to Yuan dynasty's Swallow capital is far?
Min ho: Of course.
Highness: Such a long journey, when you came to escort me, what were you thinking on the road?
Min Ho: I don't usually ponder.
Highness: I am asking you, how do you see me as a king.
Min Ho: A wise and kind king is ascending. Truly the fortune of hundreds of commoners. That's what I thought. Do I continue?
Highness:  You hate me, don't you?
Min Ho: Me?
Highness: From the start, before you saw me, you hated me, right?
Min Ho: Highness, to answer this sort of question, my head will fall.
Highness: Why do you hate me? I am your king. Just speak the truth. Do I have to order you before you'll do so?
Min Ho: The previous king, when he ascended, was only 14 years old. Because he was too young to rule, Yuan dynasty removed him of his position.
Highness: I know.

Min Ho: Your highness is now 21 years old. In my opinion, 14 or 21 years old, is still young. Moreover, your highness was sent to Yuan Dynasty at the age of 10, grew up there. The Yuan thinking is surely in your bones. To get such a person to be king of Goryeo, our country's people are really unfortunate. I've also thought of this before.  I'm done speaking.

Highness: Many people think like that, right? The people of Goryeo. In the span of 12 years, you are already the 5th king. Who knows, perhaps the people of Goryeo don't care.

Highness: Thanks for saying what you think.

Min Ho: Your highness. That being the case, I don't hate you much.

(zine ed: I was thinking the same. :) A king who can sincerely ask for opinion about his subjects' thoughts, who cares what his subjects think, is a good king.  It's obvious he's shorter and smaller than Min Ho, but has a grand, kingly bearing that commands respect.  I like his facial expressions. Good actor, though looks older than 21).

Adviser (preparing the altar): Your Highness. It's said that natural well is the gate.  A 1000 years ago, Hua Tuo flew to the gate of the sky through here. In that sky, Hua Tuo trained many disciples. Every 300 years, disciples are sent down to earth through this gate.

Highness: There is such a legend? In other words, it allows me to send my plea through this gap?

Adviser: This is no gap, but a gateway to the sky/heaven.

Voice: What is that?

Min Ho: B group, increase vigilance. Group A, block the outer section.

Adviser: Your highness, the sky gate is open. The sky gate is open! Entering it, your highness, you'll see Hua Tuo, your highness. Your highness, please order him to come out. Whether it is Hua Tuo, his disciple, or a miracle physician. Hurry give the order, your highness, before the gate closes. Hurry, your highness.

Guy behind: Then, why don't you who know so well, go for a trip!

Adviser: Brat! (to his king) The one who can save the empress, the miracle healer in the sky is there, your highness.

(zine ed: Actually... the king is not supposed to endanger his life. The correct way should be a trusted man going in, but not the king. His men should be preventing him from going in case something happens, even if he wants to. Or, the king can enter taking one or two trusted men with him. /// Among the men, the King looks really small-sized. Can it be he's really 21 yrs old?  I think the Empress is bigger-sized than him, no wonder she doesn't like him. Imagine them in bed, she riding him. O.O).

Highness: Although I cannot believe all that he says...

Min Ho: Please give your order.

Highness: ... but need to at least give it a try.

Min Ho: I'll go.

Guy: General..

Min Ho: It's an order.

Guy: General!

2012.
Woman in present time: Hey, did you see that? Saw it?
Man: What?
Woman: There. The guy who came out from there.
Man: You must have seen wrong.
Woman: Really! Look.
Man: What.

Announcement regarding sunspot activity eruption warning. According to research report, from 6pm onwards, there is no damage report. Equipment within the country has been affected by solar flare, currently routing round polar routes.

Min Ho: Priest. High Priest, please stop. I'm from the world below, named Choi Young.
Priest: Below?
Min Ho: I know this is not a world for mortals. Please, you must help.
Priest: What can I help you with?
Min Ho: I am looking for a miracle healer.
Priest: Miracle healer?
Min Ho: It is said Hua Tuo came here.
Priest: Mister Hua Tuo...Ah! Doctor, right?
Min Ho: Yes.
Priest: Every doctor's specialty is different. Internal, external, gynae, dentist. Where is the injury?
Min Ho (demonstrates): This area here.
Priest: Here..Ah! Plastic surgeon.
Min Ho: Do you know where?
Priest: Plastic surgeons are plenty. This is after all Gangnam.
Min Ho: I'm not looking for just any ordinary physician. It's the miracle healer.
Priest: Seems you are looking for famous person. Ah! I have seen Coex plastic surgery convention here. If you look there, surely will find a reknown specialist.
Min Ho: Co..
Priest: Coex.
Mh: Which direction is that?
Priest: It's just here. You can see it.
Mh: If it's over there, I was just there. But... how to go there?
Priest: Just walk over there.
Mh: Just.. walk? Ah! I see. Thanks.
Priest on phone: Hey bro, our temple seems to have installed a hidden camera. If we were shooting a drama, I surely would know. You don't know, either, right? Hello, hello? This lousy phone.

Min ho: Just... walk over there.

Surgeon: The originator of removing wrinkles in the 70s... subcutaneous lift. What we commonly refer to as facial cosmetic surgery. Like this from the area above the ear, slice to the front. After lifting the skin...to remove excess skin. This view is of lifting the skin away. If not carefully done, there will be risk to the blood vessels. Need to be really alert. So like this pulling up to join, this is the photo 10 days after. As you can see, a little scar is left. This type of surgery, besides leaving a scar, also has many disadvantages. One of the biggest question is, the effect is not long lasting. Those who undergo this surgery, will look for the surgeon again within 2 years, to pull again. The next surgery to intro is the AQ Lift.

(In restroom) Oh I don't know. Super fed up. An idiot actually walked in and messed up my seminar. What the hell. Early in the morning, that bad old man just takes his male disciples around.. Really, it's troubled. Just wait and see. 3 years later, I will open a shop in Gangnam. Speaking of which, could you invest in my hospital? Hey, didn't you marry into a riches? Spend a little!

In custody: I say, uncle. Which company's salesman are you? I say uncle! I'm asking which company you're from. Got entrance/exit pass? Hey, you deaf?

Mh: May I know how do I get in there? Do I get in through here? Could you please open this? This physician in here, I have to see her.

Security guy: Physician? You kidding me, right? We don't have all the time on our hands. Look at you. What's that. Is it ketchup? Wow.. Ow.. Wait wait wait... we can talk it over. (gets thrown) Hang on, I'm fine. You... you just got violet with me!

Guy: Are you ok?
Security guy: Quick call the police. Just say a madman crashed in. Damaged stuff and was violent to security. And.. the possession of illegal weapon. I'll make sure you pay for it. Rascal! (gets his baton sliced) Ahh!! I'm outta here!

Man in suit: Ah! Doc, how do you do? Please take a look here. These days, gotta use these gizmos to liven up the shop. Take a look at this. This product has 2.5 times base maginification. And it's made of super light material. Some surgeons even forget to take it off after surgery. Just directly go home wearing it. And the LED in the middle, blinking light... (sees Minho)... Ahhh... recently the way of selling is really all sorts...

Doc: Selling wearing this? And I thought he was a small-timer.

Man: Look at that get up. Eh... he's come over.
Mh: There is a life in danger.
Doc: So?
Mh: According to our doc, the neck artery has ruptured. Can you help?
Doc: Why are you asking me?
Mh: Can you help?
Doc to saleman: Isn't he a little weird?
Salesman: Perhaps he's too immersed in a game.
Doc: This product can be delivered, right?
Salesman: Of course! Just leave hospital address, I'll send it over right away.

Security: That's him. Him. That sword on him is real.
Policeman: Please put down that weapon. Put down that weapon!
Mh: Can that patient be saved?
Doc: That depends on having seen the patient, then will know. Which area, how serious.
Mh: How serious... will know after seeing?
Police: Put down the sword.

Mh (to unconscious security man): Who asked you to keep following. (dumps the guy on the chair). Exactly like this wound caused by a sword. The depth is about the same. Can save?

Doc: Call an ambulance! Quick dial 119, hurry!
Mh: If can't save this person, I'll use him for another try out.
Salesman: Spare me, spare me!
Doc: You're asking me to save him? Here?
Mh: There isn't time. Please begin.
Doc (after examining the guy): Need equipment. Clamp & hook required.

Salesman: Oh god, if you let me live through this, I'll ..
Doc: Please grab hold of here...
Salesman: Please forgive my earlier sins...please guide me...

Mh hits the table with his sword hilt.
Salesman: What what?
Mh: If this man dies, it will be your turn.
Salesman: What?! Ah! yes, yes.
Doc: Mask. Sanitize. (fixing up the bleeding) Found the bleed point, have stopped the bleeding. Get ready to sew up, help me to hold open the wound here.

Cops: I am Gangnam's police. What's going on inside? Can someone tell me? I'm going to call the phone in there. Hope to talk to someone. I'm calling now.

Security: Hey, still not here yet? There are a man and woman being held hostage, according to witnesses. The perp is wearing black and carrying a blade. Should be a nutcase. And the situation of the wounded guy is really bad.

Doc: Ok, snip. Good work.
Salesman: Doc, is it over?
Mh (checking pulse): This man is... alive.
Doc: Still need observation. Need to give him antibiotics..
Salesman: Saved! Look, the surgery is a great success, right?
Mh: You'll have to come with me.
Doc: Me? Why?
Mh: It'll just be you.
Doc: Uncle, I haven't done surgery in a long time and...
Mh: Might get dangerous on the road, you must follow me closely.
Doc: Look, uncle...I...
Mh: Don't get lost. Follow me closely.

(zine ed: laughing at the doc trying to run while minho starts chasing. Her face so cute).

Radio voice: The perp is coming down with the hostage. Everyone get ready for the ambush.

Mh: I told you to come with me, so come with me.
Doc: Going where? All cops outside. Where can you take me?
Mh: Break out directly.

Security: Shut the doors, shut the doors. They are going out.

Doc: Uncle, Wait wait, uncle, really... Uncle, give yourself up, Ok? Surrender.

(zine ed: Ooohh... his powers work even here, and so powerful. Telekinetic?).

Mh: Then... I'll have to be impolite.
Doc: What do you mean? (gets carried off and released) Spare me.
Mh: Just get in there.
Doc: Please let me go. Let me go.
Mh: I will not kill you. As long as you can save her, I definitely will let you return.
Doc: Liar. I've seen your face. In the movies, once the perp's face has been seen, will be silenced. I know all of that.
Mh: I am a Goryeo warrior, Choi Young. On my honour as a warrior, I guarantee with my life, will let you return. I promise.

(10 days earlier...)
Fortune teller: So, what is it you wish to know?
Doc: Men. When will I meet the man of my life?
Fteller:  Can you give me your birth details?
Doc: Here's my name and birth details. Not the ordinary kinda guy. One with loads of cash, that sort. Can you tell me next week's lottery numbers?
Fteller: Of course not. If I could predict, I would have bought them.
Doc: So then, I want to ask when and where will I meet a rich guy.
Fteller: I get it, I get it. (utters some words)
Doc: If possible, best is he's handsome.
Fteller: Quiet!
Doc: Even if he's rich, he also shouldn't be ugly, right?
Fteller: Ah! this year, April 5th, heaven and earth will be filled with light. If you don't meet such a man at that time, fulfil your wish.... What does it say? Where will I meet him? The best meet this week. I need cash badly. But I'm not buying branded bags, that sort of thing... I now have a research topic, to do with cell extraction. At a critical time, spent all the research funds.

Fteller: Wow! Why is like this? Give me your hand.
Doc: What?
Fteller: This prediction/lot... is saying.. I need to refer to the book. This type of lot rarely comes up. Need to refer. It's a guy that heaven has destined.

Doc: How is that possible? Did you say heaven destined?
Fteller: But
Doc: But what?
Fteller: It's a man you met from the past.
Doc: The past?
Fteller: It means, look among the ex-guys that you used to go out with.
Doc: What?
Fteller: Among them, is the man of your life. That's what the lot says.
Doc: It can't be....From student till ... a total of 3 years and 4 months. There was a guy I was with, my elder. The guy who even got me to write his graduation thesis for him. (enters lift) Senpai/elder, you worked overtime yesterday, right, didn't eat breakfast, right? I bring you bento, I made it myself. This is fish... not this... this is ... yes, this is the one.

Elder: Eun Soo.
Doc: Oh, quick eat this.
Elder: I'm sorry.
Doc: You had breakfast already, right?
Elder: I have another woman. A rich family's daughter, is going to sponsor me a clinic.
Doc: How rich?
Elder: It's said quite a few buildings in Gangnam...That woman is much uglier than you, personality is also rotten.  But no choice, she can help me open a clinic. Sorry. I'll leave first.

(back at fteller's) Doc: Number 2 liked me alot, he didn't know what to do every time he saw me. Here and here, can be made fuller.  Here can make slimmer. Don't you worry. Should be a small problem, need any Botox?  If want a V-shaped face..

Man: Eun Soo doc..
Doc: Yes?... We went out for about 3 months.
Fteller: Then what happened?
Doc: Oh, truly cannot. No matter how rich, see the face...
Fteller: Didn't you say you need someone rich?
Doc: It can't be him... Heaven destined...
Fteller: THe guy that Heaven destined...
Doc: To be honest, I don't want to get married. Get engaged will do. After getting the cash, once I'm done with the research topic, companies will want to buy the patent. Using deposit, will clear the debt, I still can do it. This way will be great.

Fteller: But it will not go according to your wish.
Doc: Why?
Fteller: Next draw... (utters from the lot) Pronunciation is really difficult. (utters again) Means, not so long in the future, you'll go on a long trip.
Doc: Where can I go? Was difficult finding a hospital. How can I just leave like that?
Fteller: In other words, this lot, is saying a romance road, go out and meet fate. Go out, then will meet. Meet then will come true.
Doc: I want to know, that guy... That guy with cash, where, how do we meet?
Fteller: The match arranged by heaven, those who never meet their match are countless.
Doc: Really. Just leave it. You...
Fteller: Think back carefully. Among those you met in the past.
Doc: You know in this building, where is the most powerful Tarot card person staying? This question is rather impolite, right? Sorry. I'm going. Guys I met in the past... (thinks back)

Back to the past:
Guy: Heard about it?

(zine ed: ... sorry translate till here. It's getting rather long-winded and hard to translate the later it gets. I've been translating while watching for hours. It's now 1.02 am. Hot sticky tired. I think Ep 1 is funny at parts, but... I think they should cut to the chase and not prolong unimportant parts. And those art type of drawing scenes... it just drags it. Stick to live action and don't go into anime which the Japs are super at. Hmm.. so it ends with his past when he first joined them. Ahh... are we going to have to put up with a long story about his past? *grimace* Ahh.. one other thing... Is there no language difference between 1351 and 2012? I mean, surely, the Korean language pronunciation and words have not always been the same throughout the centuries?).

Faith: Where is it??

It is now 10.52 pm. The Korean audience should still be watching the TV drama, first release of Faith. Based on this schedule. Twice a week. http://www.koreandrama.org/?p=19612

Coz I'm looking to watch it and didn't find it. Came upon the above link. So, as I guessed (in the post before this), they air it at night. Wonder if tomorrow, anyone will up it with English subs on Youtube or other Korean drama hosts.

Looking forward to seeing Lee Min Ho, so tall, so big-sized..... and wearing that cape o horseback. Waahhhh.... so darn sexy and cool.

http://www.allkpop.com/2012/08/preview-of-faith-starring-lee-min-ho-draws-attention

-------------

I keep watching this for Kazama's voice.  Been watching it about 4 or 5 times. Happens when Kazama's voice is in my head and I need to hear this fun, supremely deep, arrogantly sexy version.

At first, I used to dislike his voice, annoying, irritating, wondered why they even chose him as seiyuu. But towards the end when he shows heart... well, his voice suddenly becomes very sexy. :) And I'm pleased to see that his seiyuu is also very sexy. :) Young man (?) sexier-looking than Miki Shinichiro (who is losing, or lost much of his dyed-colored stringy hair).  Kazama's seiyuu wears such a sexy and cool silver-grey shirt, with a black T inside.

This one has English subs. But there is another with only Chinese subs.

I love the sexy watch band or wrist band on him.

Hakuouki 薄桜鬼・碧血録 君ノ記憶【追想・其の二】土×千 Hijikata & Chizuru

Which episode is this song from? Can't remember. The last episode?

Damn hot nights. Making me sweat. My short hair... feels so hot. 13Aug Mon 12.23 am.

I'm gonna read more of The 3rd Gate (Lincoln Child) after this. Just finished a revision/continuation of my novel. Gained inspiration after watching OVA 2 & 3 of Winter Cicada (yaoi anime). Toshiyuki Morikawa seiyuu's voice... I watched for it... found it somehow for Embracing Love (Haru wo Daiteita), then Winter Cicada (Fuyu no Semi) on Youtube.  I only watched from OVA 2 part 2 of Winter Cicada because the screen shot with the clothes on the grass on the Youtube side panel captured me.

His voice in my mind after I saw him in the sofa sex with seiyuu Miki Shinichiro and his gentleness and wonderfully deep gentle voice when he paired with Yukihito on the sofa in a later scene of Embracing Love.

I love his voice. Had to wait for another time (today) to watch properly when my bro wasn't around. Today, he was around, but...thought he was asleep and I could watch. Scully, he woke in his room just when I plugged into my earphones. Oh well... I couldn't stop watching now that I was already on. Just made sure to pause at non-sexual parts if I hear him coming.

Today, thinking of his voice, searched for him on my phone. Watched a little of his interview of 2011 where he talks about dubbing for Tom Cruise (wow, I didn't know that), before I had to leave my phone at home to go Meidiya for fish and meat shopping.  Hmm... should I finish watching it? Or read The 3rd gate and leave the interview for other time? I'm hungry and it's late.

Update:  A minute later. Ahhahaha... I watched the rest of the interview, where I left off this afternoon.  I had been thinking (and disappointed) that his speaking voice in the interview is normal, not deep like he usually does. Awwww....  But in the interview, he explains that he actually does not have a low voice. And he has both high and low voice ranges (is it? I only always hear the deep voice of his in his anime and have never heard he has a  "high" voice unlike the insanely high-pitched Ryotaro Okiayu seiyuu in El Hazard who can also go very low).

Pity that Cruise don't even bother meeting up with him (who does his voice in Japanese), despite approving of (?) the seiyuu doing more Japanese dubs of his movies.  It's not obvious if Morikawa is a fan, though he seems hopeful in rubbing shoulders with a Hollywood celebrity, but I wonder if he still feels the same with Tom Cruise divorced in a ... questionable way recently. Doesn't Morikawa know that Cruise has a strange religion thing?

Morikawa is very calm doing this interview in LA. Surprisingly. He doesn't blush or sweat. Just very calm and collected. Wow.

Birth year 1967  (older than me and younger looking). I was telling bro this afternoon after watching a little of the interview and seeing his bio in Wiki, that the sun is kind to Japanese and Taiwanese people. Their age never shows on their faces. They look so young, so fair.  *taking the calculator now* 2011 - 1967 = 44. WAHHhhh *KO* He's 44 in the interview!  Impossible!

No wonder so calm. At that age.

Oh yeah, I was disappointed when he talked about being able to get along with a female colleague (?) because they are about the same age, because I thought he was different and above such thinking. What has age got to do with compatibility or being able to get along because of being the same/similar ages? "Our ages are close so we get along really well.".

I find it ridiculous and absurd that Korea and now seems to me Japan, have this thinking. What's the matter with these people?

Also... I have been wondering whether there are schools or how voice actors start out in Japan, and Morikawa said in the interview that there are schools for voice acting (he came from Katsuya).  Hmm... then my thought is... it means there would be plenty of grads spilling out of those academies (meaning the anime industry can't shut). Does everybody get a job in voice acting upon graduation? Or... how hard is it getting into the line? Pulling strings? Unique voice?

*smiling* After hearing Morikawa's voice as Sephiroth. Japanese voices are still better than American (American voices sound very fake). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqTYqBHCbb4 Curious about Morikawa's appearance in that anime expo as voice of Sephiroth (I suppose that interview was done in conjunction with the expo (?), same year), I looked up Final Fantasy on Youtube. Final Fantasy VII? Hmm...

Winter Cicada... touching but I know the reality of gay guys is not like that. So... it takes the romance off of it. Made me think and inspired me though (with my novel).

I want to live as much as these Shinsengumi guys do.

Update: 10.53am Mon After turning off the laptop and brushing teeth, in the bathroom, I suddenly remembered ... Morikawa does have a higher-pitched voice that I heard: Mama Panda in the recent Polar Bear Cafe. Other than that, I have seen a few anime of his and all have been his deeper, gentle voice that is so loved even by Americans in the anime expo. But thinking of his voice as Sephiroth... somehow it's not evil enough. Hahaha... :) His is just a very gentle and kind voice no matter how evil or intimidating he tries to make it.  Gentle Kindness rings through it.

And I did manage to get in a few more chapters of The Third Gate before bed.

Hey gee, it just occurred to me, the significance of today's date: 13 Aug!! Faith release! Where? In Youtube?  Tonight? Subbed? When was his name again?... City Hunter... *thinks* ... Heavens, I can't remember. It's been too long since City Hunter. Morikawa? Hahaha... :) Korean names are so forgettable. *thinks some more* ... *checks Youtube for anything new*  Ah. Lee Min Ho.

These days, I'm impatient with the keyboard or something, my fingers stray all over the keys and type wrong. Typing is so slow.  Don't know if it's anything related to the anemia. I drop things easily even though I'm holding them, things slip off from my fingers etc...

I used to have butter fingers, but not this slippery.

*clicking on Youtube* Wahh... He's  really very tall and bigger-sized than the usual Korean man. See the difference with that man in the T that he's attacking (assistant director holding video cam?). I think it's very difficult to act when nothing's there. He has to eye here and there... when nothing's there.

He carries his co-star so easily. :) He's smiling because she's light, or unexpectedly heavy? :) I love that she hugs him like that. So sexy and romantic. He put her down only after she asked him to. Oh? So nice to carry? :)

He gave an exhaled surprise (I think that was one of surprise) when lifting her off. Think he didn't expect her to be so heavy.

Wow, he's so strong. Can ever carry a man on one shoulder. Wow! No wonder effortless when carrying a woman (his co-star) in the earlier vid.  I didn't think she was pretty at first, thought they chose the wrong woman, but ... this vid shows her to be very pretty and right/matching for the role. Prettier than the Kim Nana in City Hunter and of course, prettier than that ... woman in *checks Youtube* Personal Taste.

Unfortunately, not translated/subbed:

Hmm... movie style/extravagance for drama... nice. Who's that guy with the white hair? Cool. In an earlier trailer, I had seen a glimpse of him before but didn't know who he was. Don't look like Min Ho.

Links Today for Uterine Fibroids And Ovarian Cysts

I'm considering writing a book on the cure, so stay tuned.

Doctors are actually out of date. They make a lot of assumptions without knowing the true cause behind uterine fibroids.  Yes, there is a true cause. Uterine fibroids can be prevented.

Online information are in bits & pieces & practically useless.  My book will cover what really works.

Update on the below post on Omtantric replies "Max":

The hairstylist did send message to my handphone after all. :) I thought he wouldn't bother and was just trying to get rid of me because I was so persistent. True, I was persistent, but also desperate and earnest. It was not possible that I was lying just to get his number (he's not that handsome, I'm not that crazy over men and I am rather arrogant myself).  He could see I was honest and earnest about having to travel so far to get a haircut from him.

I asked him 3 times to give me his number before, during and after the haircut. He refused with some strange difficulty like he was being tied by company policy or something.

During the cut, I realized I had pen and possibly paper in my pouch in his cupboard. On the 3rd count, after the haircut, when I was taking my things from the cupboard, I unzipped my pouch, tore a piece from a medical result white paper and took out the pen. Then I asked him to write his number (since he was reluctant to tell me, I thought perhaps quietly writing it down would be better for him).

He refused while folding the sheet of cloth, and tipped his head towards my paper saying something. I didn't catch what he meant and asked him again to write his number. He repeated slightly louder for me to leave my number instead. So, I did.

Then I gave it to him and walked away. Just before exiting, I realized giving him my number was useless if he wouldn't call me. I mean, I needed his number to text him to ask if he would be working on a particular day so I could drop in. Anyway... that's the only choice he left me (assuming he would just throw away my number). Previously, I had given my name and number to a woman stylist at another outlet and she never contacted my number ever.

I walked back in and asked him if he would contact me if he was transferred out back to the usual outlet again, and he vaguely nodded without quite looking at me. I took it to mean he wouldn't and was just trying to get rid of me by asking me to leave my number.

But the next night (Sat night), he sent message at 11.39pm! I only saw it past 2 a.m. (because I didn't know about the message and when I checked the phone, it was because I couldn't sleep at 2+ a.m.. ). Was so happy, smiled in bed. Of course, I thanked him and hoped he would have a good day when he woke. Hoped also that my message didn't wake him.

Well...a pity he never replied. But.. well... at least he contacted my number, so I had his.

Replies in OmTantra Complete Waste of Money (on men focused on sex)

With reference to the post here: http://therevolutioner.blogspot.sg/2011/05/omtantra-complete-waste-of-money.html

The men who reply to the post above "OmTantra: Complete Waste of Money" cannot be good or genuine characters. This is a given (an established fact, condition, factor, etc.).  All those who commented in that post, I first considered their characters and motives negatively, above all.

So, it is not surprising that continuing communication with any of them would result in waste of time.

I was brought up to mean what I say, and keep promises that I make. I don't know why people these days cannot even do this. They will say "next time" or even sound sincere in concluding with giving the impression that there is a "next time" (next meeting), when actually, they have no genuine intention of a "next time". Why can't they not say anything rather than let something they don't mean come out of their mouths?

I can only blame their attitude and behavior on poor or no parental upbringing.

Analysis of a case:  The man named "Max" who commented in the OmTantra post.

Looking at his comments in that post, it is obvious where he is focusing. Yet based on his last comment, we continued via several e-mails.

On my part, I wondered if there might be a friend in him, and I am one who gives chances where there might be even very slim possibilities.

However, at no time did I think he was genuine or sincere. His e-mails also proved it, and I also implied it in my replies a few times.

1) An instability in the format of his comments that can also be seen in his posts, suggesting a certain unreliability (which I also mentioned to him in our beginning impressions of each other).

2) I noticed that every time I mentioned something that I was personally bothered about, he would not say a word about it. Instead, he would select to reply to questions only pertaining to himself.  At most, he would make a comment once and thereafter fall silent on the topic that I cared about, and talk about his side.

3) On his side, his e-mails were mostly sexual. Sexual exploits of his past, sexual approach towards our communication in trying to elicit sexual fantasies together, sexually oriented questions such as what underwear did I prefer to wear etc...  When I re-directed it by intentionally mentioning my search for good and sincere friends, he excluded himself from it by his words.

4) At first, he pretended concern for my anemia. But that quickly and obviously changed to sex fiend. I felt it surprising that an engineer (as he claims to be) who is educated would be so debased in his mentality. I even considered if this was really a person who even went to university.

5) He was eager to meet, though he pretended to play it easy by not insisting, pretending to care about  my anemia. I said I wouldn't be meeting anyone without a haircut and he didn't offer any solution. When I suggested the 2 things he could help out as a friend with a car, he said he had earlier wanted to drive me there. What a liar. In so many e-mails, he had not once offered anything genuine.

I had showed him a photo of my previous haircut by the QB hairstylist (and he was eager to see), with my lower face masked, intending to post up here, yet he didn't offer his photo.

It was time I cut things short by scheduling a meet up soon. I also wanted to meet him to see if my thoughts about him were correct.  My analyses of people online have never been proven wrong (I told him this right at the beginning).

If I was wrong, I would have a friend. If I was right, then we would never see each other again because it is in the nature of such people to walk away without any further communication.

I was thinking the latter, and it has been proven correct.

6) In truth, I am more educated than the majority of people I communicate with.  But I would rather listen to the other person's level than offer my own.  No point offering something that has no benefit and only disadvantage in a conversation.

7) I e-mailed select information about myself and my online experiences, only to enable him to understand my character, personality and approach. So while I spent time typing those information, it was for a purpose that I wondered if he could grasp.

It is in my experience meeting such men with sex on their minds, that their eyes have the same empty and blank look. So far, I have encountered 2.

When looking at their eyes, it is just 2 black abyssal beads, with nothing behind or within. It is like looking at 2 black, hard walls.

It is said that the eyes are windows to the soul.  In their eyes, there is no reflection of life within, no softness of a human mind or spirit.

It could be the result of a "bestial" area of the brain over-dominating such minds over other normal aspects.

In social context,  such men do not smile or blink when talking or looking.  You could say they are slaves to the beast within them. Therefore, you are not speaking to their human minds, but to their beast which stares in an unblinking bestial way that reflects no human understanding.

No surprise the women whom he said he approached online, declined his persuasion of getting a sexual or sensuous massage from them or on them. Those who met with him, declined as well.

8) Earlier, I had already guessed the man would not be attractive. It was proven correct upon meet up. One wonders if it were true (as he claims) that many women were sexually involved with him in the past.  In the past... he might have looked worse, since men tend to look more defined and better with age. (I told bro that even my bro looks better than him, and even our next door bachelor neighbour looks handsome).

Well, on the bright side, at least it wasn't a complete waste of time (this time): A haircut without having to spend a cent (or much tedious time) on transport.  I knew "Max" would not try anything in the car, and I was able to obtain a haircut at Simei where he drove to. I would not have bothered getting a haircut if it weren't because of having to meet people for the first time.

This is the best outcome I have ever encountered so far with gay women and men looking for sex.

For the first time, didn't spend money on buying useless drinks at a cafe just for useless talk, and didn't spend at all on transport to and back from the meet up.

After meeting him, I am to meet another guy next week. And I am thinking of cancelling because I already know the chances of wasting time with this other guy is practically a given. In our e-mails thus far, he has not been a "friend".  Very shallow and short replies of 1 or 2 sentences that are insincere. Once he even missed replying to 1 question out of 2 that I posed to him.

When I adjusted my timing to meet next week, he said he had something else on later (at a rather close time to ours).  Meaning his intention, is to meet for just a short time before the movie, talk a little of whatever he has in mind, watch the movie, and make a hasty leave for his next appointment once movie ends.

It is not the friend that I want. Question is, how to put it to him.

Hakuouki: Hijikata, Saito, Sano pics

Pics I saved from screen while watching.

Hijikata:  He does look younger here. As it progresses (especially after he cuts his hair in Season 2), he looks more strained under the eyes, longer face, more brooding expression, darker look. He smiles more here than later.

Chizuru actually grew taller towards the end of Season 2. Suddenly, she looked more like a woman, instead of a very young girl. Wasn't as short or small as before (compare with Ep 1 of Season 1). Back then, she was so small, Hijikata could actually pick her up!

Saito:

The ever cool, ever suave, handsome and silent Saito Hajime. In Peacemaker Kurogane (which I'm thinking of watching again), Saito was on the opposing side. In Hakuouki, Saito is loyal on Shinsengumi side. Or perhaps, in Kurogane, Saito was undercover for Hijikata (just like in Hakuouki)?

Saito is no less capable than Hijikata, and in fact, is on par or even more capable. Able to stand in for Hijitaka as well as if it were Hijitaka himself. No sweat.

He is like Hijikata's double. When Hijikata is not around, Saito takes his place in protecting Chizuru. Although Sano does the same, Saito has a more personal touch, as though it were Hijikata himself.

Saito acts as Hijitaka's hand, when in fact, Saito is his own man in his own right. At some point, I wondered if Saito could possibly be in love with Chizuru. But seems not. He is just taking care of her for Hijikata.

I liked that it took a while, yet was pretty soon, that the guys knew it was Hijikata that Chizuru had fallen in love with (even though she didn't know it herself).  It was after that time when she ran to Hijikata to protect him from Kazama (ep 9). After that, everyone knew.

That is also when everyone started leaving the Shinsengumi.  The guys had no one to stay for. Chizuru was not theirs and they didn't love her enough (Sano, Shinpachi, Heisuke). If they loved her, they would have stayed, regardless of what they personally wanted. But they didn't love her in that way. Ultimately, their own needs came first.

Saito belongs to Hijikata, not Chizuru.

The way he stands alone in his new western clothes, suddenly makes him look vulnerable in the unfamiliar. Very cute. :)  The cool, suave Saito-san. Once referred to as the "expert of explanations" (by Souji) when the Shinsengumi had to explain to the man they didn't like (Itou) why they were gathered (Ep 6).

Season 2, Masaki of the Aizu clan says Saito wears his swords on his right side, instead of left. I didn't know there was this custom. Masaki said Saito wasn't a warrior by wearing his swords "wrong". It got me thinking... how does Saito pull out his sword?  Saito is left-handed? I didn't notice.  But 3rd pic here shows he is.

Confirm from re-watching Ep 1: Saito is left-handed:

Saito is actually smaller-sized than the other guys. Especially when he sits with them. Even Souji is slightly taller and larger than Saito. Yet Saito is the best swordsman among them. (even though Kaoru says Souji is, which is strange).

Saito never smiles. But re-watching Ep 7 (looking for the episode on master of explanations), I realized this is the first time Saito smiles. And the reason? Chizuru. :)  Her cute, lost puppy face.

The beautifully naked (almost) Saito during a physicals exam:  Why does Saito stand like a woman with an arm akimbo? :)

Look at Saito standing so emotionless with Shinpachi showing off.
Saito is rather thin/slim actually...

Expert at explanations:  You can see even against Itou, Saito is still smaller-sized. :)

Sano (left) and Shinpachi:

Two sexy guys. Similar. Close pals. I like Sano. Suave, sexy, smooth, yet honorable with Chizuru. A gentleman. At first,  I thought Sano was also in love with Chizuru. He's always nearby to rescue and cheer her up. But he always rubs his hand on her head, meaning he treats her like a little sister.  He is taller and bigger. Very impressive to have him by her side. And I think he feels really good about it. Hahaha...

Extras: from re-watch of Ep 9:

Notice the light shining off Chizuru's sword. As the camera pans down, the rather blinding light reflects off the sword. Visually realistic. Amazing. (I had wanted to mention this earlier, but it passed.).
