Strange that every time KRdrama releases an episode and I try to find it on Youtube that it's uploaded on, always cannot find. Wonder if  it's because KRdrama somehow made it private? It cannot be searched in YouTube search engine.

Hahaha!! I'm so excited. She keeps calling him "Tei Jang" (Captain) and I know from reading a little of a text description at a website, that he asked her to say it again. And she says it again playfully. He's going to kiss her.... but then... arghhh.... interrupted.

She's so small and looks like auntie among the men. ^_^ So small, how to hide?? Ki Cheol is bound to notice. And she speaks. Her voice is a woman's.  Maybe that's why Choi Young (assuming) told her not to stay out with the guys?

Crap, I think they killed Doctor Jang. But ehhh? How come he couldn't defend himself with his fan?

Ahh... It's so annoying the SBS parts keep buffering. The dramastyle Tudou is as bad (uploaded from China website).

I'm watching back and forth between the 2 hosts. When one stalls/buffers, I watch the other one. Aiyah. Damn. Still nothing out from other hosts as of now. 1.31 a.m.

Faith OST Parts 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Music Soundtrack Korean Drama Min Ho

After searching for a long while yesterday 21 Sunday, was unable to find download for Part 5. Whey-yo??! Na Ze?!! Why?!!

Quite annoying that all the search results showed only 1 song ("I See You" by Brown-Eyed Soul's Sunghoon) under Part 5 OST.  Na Ze?!! Part 5 OST has 8 tracks.

Here is the complete listing of all the parts. Listening to the tracks, I realized that they contain the songs/soundtracks that I like when watching the drama.

I have absolutely no idea Why they wouldn't compile everything into 1 CD for sale. It's totally amazing there's not even a Faith keychain for sale!! What are the Koreans doing?!!! They are missing the chance for lucrative merchandising!!!!!

The show is almost over in 4 more episodes and not a single Faith merchandise is out. Are they going to sell them only After the drama ends??! O.O

There is absolutely nothing on Korean or Taiwanese websites for Faith items. As mentioned, not even a single keychain. Really don't understand how the Korean Faith producers are doing this or why.

City Hunter has loads of stuff, so why can't Faith do the same?

City Hunter: There are DVD sets (Korean/Taiwanese version boxes), OST CDs, towels, pillow cases, keychains, mousepads, photo cards, calendars, clothes, shoes, cap, bag, magazines.... Some time ago, I bought a pillowcase with a high-resolution Min Ho's face on it!!! ^__^ I hug him and kiss him every night.  I know he will shudder if he sees me hugging and kissing his image. But hey, who asked him to look so good?

Back to OST/Soundtrack:

I would really prefer to buy the CDs than to download or just listen online.

Maybe the Faith producers find it too troublesome to get copyright for all the various artistes for compilation into 1 soundtrack album??

It's really bizarre there are so many OST parts (1 to 7). 

I spent half the day at first looking for... Faith cartoons/anime drawings of Choi Young, and ended up trailing links to OSTs.

I didn't manage to find any anime drawings of Choi Young, but found the OSTs and Making Of Episodes 19 and 20.

Unfortunately, they only play the tracks partially before cutting off. And maybe they have download.... but I think need sign-up with Korean ID (as usual with Korean websites).

But the Olleh site lists everything clearly. So, whichever track you like, you can just search for it elsewhere to listen or download.


2) The first OST listing I found was actually from here. It's a Chinese site that lists everything clearly. But only until Part 4 and only for listening. However, the quality is very clear and good:  http://www.hanjuwang.com/ost/233.html

The song called "Sadness" I like it.
But bro passing by my room, said, "So sad the song, why you play?"
I said,  "That's why it's called Sadness".
He said, "Yeah lah".

Anyway, I found that after listening to all the tracks, I no longer wish to have the CD or to listen to anymore for now. Somehow, listening to a whole track instead of just a clip of it, isn't so nice anymore. Don't know why.

I  didn't find out who/where these songs came from. The comments kept saying each of these parts have been released at certain dates. But who released them?? Isn't there an official site? SBS/BGM?

I went to the main SBS Faith website, but didn't find any soundtracks there. Found very clear videos of Makings Of instead.

The first one is "Bad Person" (rap song that I mentioned in a previous post that I liked)

I love this song as well. The beautiful instrumental couldn't be found as easily as the vocal one. So, I downloaded it (from the link above in the post). I love the instrument (guitar?) playing at the part just before it lightens into a chorus melody.

This song was played at the end of Episode 19 (in the preview for Ep 20).

Digging up Faith Korean Drama Choi Young (Min Ho) and the King of Goryeo

After reading this Wiki, I said, "Oh, I see, I see. Yi Seonggye.".  Interesting that Yi Seonggye... that young man whom Eun Soo saved in the drama, was actually Choi Young's subordinate later. But they split and subordinate turned against master?

In any case, it doesn't pay to serve the king or government with unswerving loyalty (in the past or now).

Choi Young should have walked away when the king released him after 6 years of exile and asked him to fight pirates. Goddammit.

6 years?! How could the king have let this happen and sided with the monk after Choi Young won him so battles and fought to get him territories?? Where is the justice?

No wonder the grass wouldn't grow, although that's the curse he laid (on the grass) because of his beheading due to Yi Seonggye. But actually... what happened? Wish I knew. No records left behind? No diary?

Oh...one other thing. When Choi Young squashed the Jo II-shin rebellion, he was 36 years old. In the drama he was 29 only. Hahaha... they made him younger. And seems also made the king look better than the real-life one who tossed him aside for a monk and then used him again to fight pirates.

I guess... King Gongmin losing his wife and himself killed in the end, was his retribution then. At first I pitied him. But knowing Choi Young's history now... I don't anymore. Anyway, the king... isn't that good. From the Wiki on his tomb, he is quite merciless. 

Telling his advisors that if he waved his handkerchief, it means to kill the young Geomancer. I was quite surprised reading this. What happened to him? In the drama, he isn't like that at all.  Did the real king become like that after his queen's death?

And I was wondering why there was reference to "A Frozen Flower", a film that "was inspired to a certain extent from his life.". That movie would be....what I wanted to watch but didn't. For a moment, I thought it was "King & Clown".

Wiki on Gongmin says: "Gongmin spent his time pursuing boys and religious affairs".

Pursuing boys. Hmm.. That would explain his affection for Choi Young...in the drama. It's kinda suggestive many times in the drama. There is a strange dependency on Choi Young, with suggestive words.

An example would be, when the king goes into Captain Choi Young's room and says he's been waiting for Choi Young the whole night... (albeit to discuss plans because at that time, Choi Young was sitting and mourning the loss of Chusong and blaming himself).

Hmm... seems quite a mess. The queen died, the king became unstable. As a result, allowed the monk to take control for 6 years, during which the monk became corrupt. Through false accusations by the monk, Choi Young was exiled and almost executed. Coincidentally, 6 years is the same time Choi Young was exiled for. 6 years later, the monk died, and the king got back Choi Young. Hmmm....

Maybe that's why Choi Young still obeyed his king. Probably pitied his king and felt it wasn't the king's fault. Probably, the king's mental state prevented him from actively getting Choi Young back, or maybe the monk's power was too great.

But... why did the king allow the false accusations to frame Choi Young in the first place? Did the king believe in those accusations? It should be obvious at the time that Choi Young and the monk were against each other. So, it would be obvious those accusations were cooked up to frame.

Wish I knew. Like the drama, everything is revealed in parts....

Unfortunately in real-life history.... we can never know what really happened at the time, to know why people did the things they did. A lot of "whys".

English Lyrics/Translation: Hokkien Song "I Ask Heaven" 我問天 (翁立友)

This is a song that anyone who has experienced the pain of love will understand and be touched. I call it the universal song.

Heard this song some time back and it stuck in mind. Searched for it back then and found it on Youtube. Since then, on and off, it would play in my head.

Information says it's the theme song of a Hokkien TV series called "Love".   I only watch Taiwanese Idol dramas, however. ^_^;  So, I don't know about "Love".

This afternoon when I woke, it was playing in my head (instead of Faith OST).

So, I had to listen to it again on Youtube. Then it occurred to me to translate it for real. I had considered it before back then, but there were 2 lines I didn't know at the time. (I know them already today after putting my mind to it).

This time, after searching online for English lyrics, discovered there wasn't any. No one has actually posted English lyrics to this song, which is strange, considering it's a popular Hokkien song and quite many people know the language.

Back when I first found it on Youtube, I had posted it here in an old post. Now, I have translated it and post it anew in English.

I might actually be the first to translate it into English. 

It's a very simple song with very simple lyrics and tune, but speaks very strongly to the heart.

In Singapore... the Hokkien language is very weak to almost non-existent among the younger generation Singaporeans. I think it can be said to be an obsolete dialect, which is a pity.  This is due to 2 main reasons:

1) The government shutting down on the language at the start.
2) The association of that language to "Ah Bengs" (uncouth youths/gangsters/triads/tattoos etc...)

A pity because the Hokkien language is quite unique and straightforward (even rough/blunt/uncouth) in its expression, reflecting the practicality and ruggedness of the people of the language.  That's the impression I have of it.

Although the words are Chinese, some of the meaning of the words is different from Chinese because it's Hokkien (闽南语 Southern Fujian language).

"In general, Southern Min from southern Fujian is known as Hokkien, Hokkienese, Fukien or Fookien in Southeast Asia, and is very much like Taiwanese. ".

Having been to Taiwan before, I can verify that the Hokkien that is spoken in Singapore, is different from Taiwanese Hokkien.
