Faith Ep 6 The Great Doctor (English Subs/Translation)

Mon 2 Sept.

While waiting for Ep 7 to show, I have been re-watching many times certain parts of the previous episodes. The interaction between Choi Young and Eun Soo (Min ho and the actress) is very sexy and romantic. I love it.  ^_^

Like, when he forcibly carries her after she refused saying he carried her previously like she was "a sack or something".  I freeze-framed the perfect frames!!

And the scene where Choi Young gains consciousness with his shirt open... I love watching the perspiration along his neck, his open chest breathing/panting slowly. Ahh... so sexy.  Then Doc Jang leans over him (I wish he leaned closer) as he helps Choi Young sit up, and Choi Young shutting his eyes grimacing so sexily. Lee Min Ho is very good at what he does.

I actually thought to stop translating, but now I'll continue.

At the moment, I'm waiting for Faith @ 9.55 p.m. tonight as though I am in Korea!  Arghhh... those Koreans are so lucky to be able to understand Korean and watch Faith on time!!! I'm reminded I'm not in Korea and have to wait till tomorrow for the Chinese subbed version to be out.  >.<

Ep 6 from here (Chinese subs):  http://www.mapledo.com/node/57854/%E4%BF%A1%E7%BE%A9%28%E7%A5%9E%E9%86%AB%29-%E7%AC%AC6%E9%9B%86-the-faith-ep-6/

This time, I watched only some of this Chinese subbed version since I didn't translate it, and watched the epdrama English version instead.

While waiting for Ep 7, I'll translate this. I don't mind watching Ep 6 again! ^_^   I've watched Choi Young and Eun Soo parts a few times already. One morning, my head was playing a background music and I re-watched the part where Choi Young comes into the room to rescue Eun Soo.

A note on how the ancient people refer to themselves, that I have been wanting to mention.  In the Chinese subs,  the people refer to themselves in polite terms, rather than "I" or "me".

For instance,  the King refers to himself in a polite term when speaking to his subject (not "me" or "myself"). His subject (example: Ki Cheol) also uses a polite term when referring to himself in front of the King.

Choi Young is translated as "I'm late" in English, but actually, he uses a polite term for "I" in the Chinese subs. It's a gentleman, swordsman term that I can't think of an English equivalent. The meaning is like "my humble, gentleman self is late".

Ki Cheol:  Let Cheon Eum Ja release his sound skill.

Eun Soo: Psycho...
Choi Young: I'm late.
Eun Soo (touches his cheek): The fever is also gone. You're back alive, Psycho. I saved you. But now I am being held.
Choi Young: I know.  (zine ed: Again, he uses the polite term to refer to himself, instead of "I").
Eun Soo: Last night, I was dragged here, locked up in this room for a night...

Ki Gheol:   Royal Guard Imperial Commander Choi Young.
Choi Young: We meet again.
Ki Gheol: And you.
Choi Young: She is the person who has been named doc god (Eui Seon) by the King. Shouldn't the etiquette be observed?
Ki Cheol: That previous time we met, you were also hung up on etiquette. Do you, Choi Young, view etiquette more important than life?
Choi Young: How can that be? I'm only using etiquette as an excuse to gain more time.
Ki Cheol: Why do you need time?
Choi Young: I intend to take the person behind me and run away. (zine ed:  Dae Man is behind him. ^_^.).
Ki Cheol: Thinking of going through me and those behind me and run away? And bringing that woman?
Choi Young: Can't I?
Ki Cheol: Can it be... you have gotten all the royal guards to lay in ambush on my house's roof?
Choi Young: No. I came on my own. His Majesty does not know of it.  The royal guards, without the King's order, will not move on their own.
Ki Cheol: On your own. Why?
Choi Young:  The meaning of on my own, don't understand?  I, on my own... love the woman behind me.
Ki Cheol: What did you say?
Choi Young: The woman I love was taken away in the middle of the night, and locked in an unfamiliar place. Which man would not care? So I came over. So, in order not to have anymore casualties, can't you just let us go?
Ki Cheol:  Junior sister.
Woman in red (Hwa Soo In): What is it?
Ki Cheol: You sparred with this person the second time today, right? How was it?
Soo In: You only allowed me to experiment, so I did not put in full effort.
Ki Cheol: But?
Soo In: He did not put in full effort either. So it is difficult to ascertain how far this person has honed his level.
Ki Cheol: Junior brother, how was his inner strength?
Eum Ja: Perhaps his Qi (flow of energy) is not deep enough, anyway drawing in a breath of Qi, he is unable to last long.
Ki Cheol: Is it not deep enough, or because he has internal injury? Which is it?

(zine ed:  Ki Cheol is smart.)

Choi Young: Which is beneficial to me?
Ki Cheol:  Martial arts skills is extraordinary, moreover, a warrior who not only knows how to wield a sword.
Choi Young: I also use bow and arrow. If really no weapons, sometimes I will use fists.
Ki Cheol: A warrior who uses his brain. Choi Young, do you like wine?

In Palace:

King: I remember that time, you said, you'll not look for me or question me.
Empress: You wish to continue mocking me, or listen to me?  I heard royal guard captain has gone to look for doc god.  In the government House, I have a few persons who can be used and can ask them for help. Even though you don't wish to hear or think about it. But I am a princess of Yuan. Please use me.
King: Use?
Empress: No matter how imposing Lord Deok Song is, he cannot easily refuse Yuan's government House's request.  I will get them to bring back the doc god and royal guard captain.
King: Maybe you have forgotten, so I remind you. I am this country's, Goryeo's king.
Empress: I am this country's, Goryeo's princess.
King:  Government House Deok Song Ki Cheol, no matter how brutal he is, he is still my subject, my official. But I have to ask Yuan for help, what am I to say? Do I say I am a King who is not capable enough, so discipline him well, on my behalf? If you are Goryeo's princess, you shouldn't have this kind of thinking, say such a thing.
Empress: I see.  You got a point.
King:  And lowering your head, what are you thinking?

(zine ed: I think the fact he bothers to ask what she is thinking means he cares and loves her).

King: This king who has nothing, the few people by his side are almost all going to die, yet still caring about saving his kingly face. Is that what you are thinking?  Said all you wanted to say?
Court Lady Choi:  Before coming here, the princess had a hard time thinking about it for a long while, because she had to put down all her pride. Then...  (proceeds to leave).
King: At that time I could only hand her out.
Court Lady: Yes.
King: Doc god is really from Heaven, is she not? As long as he admits this, even if it's him, he would not anyhow hurt doc god. I believe this.
Court Lady: Yes.
King: But I didn't hand her out for nothing.
Court Lady: Is that so?
King: If I easily handed her out, I was worried he would kill her without waiting to realize her value. So I used a trick.
Court Lady: Trick?
King: Earned 7 days' time. Let him obtain doc god's heart within 7 days. If he can get it, will give her to him. Also, let him confirm whether she is real doc god or not, during this time. So within these 7 days, at least he'll let her live. This length of time, I'll no matter what... Do you think I am too bleak?
Court Lady:  Your Majesty's words...

In Ki Cheol's place:

Choi Young:  I'll drink it.  (zine ed: I love the way he holds the cup. So elegantly as befits his royal background... and puts it so perfectly back in its saucer.).
Ki Cheol:  How is it? Any poison?
Eun Soo: What? So you were testing if there was poison?
Choi Young: Yes.
Eun Soo: Are you crazy? What if there was poison?
Choi Young: Aren't you doc god? You can treat me.
Eun Soo: This is all a joke, right?
Ki Cheol's adviser: Joke, it's you little woman who started it. Come down from Heaven? Disciple of Hwa Ta? No one here believes your fakery.  Quickly be honest, where did you little woman come from?
Eun Soo: You're absolutely crazy. You think I don't speak because I don't know how to scold people? Hey, didn't you say there is a patient? Who is it?  Quickly bring here. (turns to Choi Young) This person made a bet with the king. See whether I can cure the patient in his house.
Choi Young: Then?
Eun Soo: Then what? Then I was locked up for a night. Didn't even give me breakfast.
Woman in red: Seems there is something else you didn't hear.  If you fail in the treatment.
Eun Soo: What will happen?
Woman in red: Then you'll be the demon that has bewitched the hearts of the people and be sentenced. Your head will have to move house. Then your pretty head will hang at the city's gates, let the citizens see. What to do then? Your head, no matter how you look at it, will not be beautiful.
Eun Soo: These people, why are you playing this sort of game? It's not fun and not funny, I'm really...
Choi Young: Just keep a little quiet.
Eun Soo: You think I can keep quiet now?  Just listen to them!
Choi Young: Ah.. don't.  Where is the patient?
Ki Cheol:  Originally I did have this intention but seeing that you've come, I have changed my mind. Thought of an even more suitable patient.
Choi Young: Who is it?
Ki Cheol:  In the past 3 years, the person you protected with your life. Lord Gyung Chang exiled on Kangwa island is seriously ill.  If this person is really doc god, of course she can cure that person. So, Choi Young, you will escort her there. She is your sweetheart,  you wouldn't be able to just stand aside, right?
Choi Young:  Lord Deok Song government house.
Ki Cheol:  What is it?
Choi Young: May I be so bold to ask, what are you up to?
Ki Cheol:  1 arrow a pair of eagles. I am thinking of using 1 arrow to catch 2 eagles. If it progresses well, it's also possible 1 arrow 3 eagles. Total hunting catch 3 eagles.

(zine ed: the English proverb of "Kill 2 birds with 1 stone").

continue tomorrow...
